BARELY YOURS is the story of William, a thirty year old English single dad to his adorable daughter, and Chrissie, a twenty-two year old U.S. college student living in London on a twelve month work visa.I liked William, who truly loves his daughter, but at times he was a bit hard to take. He would lead Chrissie on and then slam on the brakes, leaving her hurt and confused in the process. But when he finally realised what the problem was, he admitted it, he accepted it and he was ready to move on and give all he had to Chrissie. I liked Chrissie too, mostly because I thought she acted her age. She’s a young woman who’s smart and loving, and she has a good head on her shoulders. That being said, the ending is all her fault because she makes a rash decision without thinking. If she were a thirty year old woman behaving that way, this review would not be so kind. But because she’s only twenty-two and, in what I assume is her first real relationship, I can forgive her stupidity.
BARELY YOURS is told in dual POVs and is the first book in a trilogy about this couple. I must warn you, it does end in a cliffhanger, which I didn’t realise until the story ended on said cliffhanger at the 87% mark. Clearly I need to read the ENTIRE blurb before starting on a book, only so I know what I’m getting myself into. That being said, I enjoyed the story and I would read the next book, but I may wait until all three books have been released. The story will continue in NEARLY YOURS, but I don’t have a release date on that one at the time of this review.

This is my first read by Charlotte and it wont be my last!!Barely Yours is the first book in Charlottes new trilogy, its a romantic sexy read but does end on a cliffy !! So be warned it will make you want to throw your kindle like I did!!
William is your typical English gentleman hes a businessman and a father to Tabitha his young daughter.He lost his wife a few years earlier so its just the two of them.William is drop dead sexy,successful and smart but hes withdrawn and cold,his life is work and his daughter. William spots Chrissie while out shopping with his young daughter,she works at a store they visit.Chrissie and Tabitha hit it off straight away which sets William thinking maybe she could be the one to care for his daughter while he works the long hours he needs too.So he offers her a job,Chrissie longs to travel and the money William offers her will allow her to follow her dream.
William and Chrissie try to remain on a strictly professional level but both develop feelings for each other and when they can no longer deny the desire between them it explodes into red hot passion they cant get enough of each other.But things are never going to run smoothly with Williams stuck up mother disapproving of her and a complication that rocks Chrissies world whats next for the new lovers?

Chrissie is an American working in London until her next travelling adventure. She's currently working in a low-paid job in a high-end kids' clothing boutique, when a gorgeous man comes into the shop with his shy, little daughter.
William is a single father, widowed a few years earlier. He's committed to his multi-million pound business but also committed to being around for little Tabitha. Tabby is notoriously shy but Chrissie manages to win her over.
A chance meeting in a park between them has William seeking Chrissie out in the shop, and making her an offer she can't refuse - become Tabby's nanny.
There's an undeniable attraction between them, which leaves William battling with his feelings - guilt for trying to move on with his life, and knowing that to get involved with the nanny would be highly inappropriate. Chrissie can't quite believe that someone like William would be attracted to her, but his hot and cold behaviour leaves her somewhat confused. Their social disparity is not helped by his disapproving, snobby mother.
Overall, this novella was just okay for me. I think what I wanted from this book was a bit more character development, especially William.
William lost his wife. He is taking care of his daughter best he can while running his own business. He is trying to find a daycare for his daughter that she likes. He feels lost and alone lately. When he takes Tabby to get a new outfit he meets Chrissie. Chrissie sparks his interest and forms a bond with his daughter in a matter of minutes. He knows what he must do. He must take a chance on her and asks her to be the new nanny.
I enjoyed reading this book. I love Chrissie's carefree nature. She is caring and attentive. William at first seems hot and cold but he is still working through the loss of his wife. I felt for him. He is a wonderful man. The moments he shares with his daughter melts my heart. Chrissie helps William live life again. The scenes heat up with the smoldering love story and hot sex scenes.The story is filled with some twists and turns. The ending was like what the hell did she just do. I need the next book to see what happens next.
