Always a Rogue, Forever Her Love

When the roguish Earl of Sinclair wins Miss Juliet Marshville’s family cottage in a game of cards to her brother, Juliet takes matters into her own hands. She’s offered first the position of governess to his wayward sisters…and then mistress for the man known as Sin.

But Juliet will settle for nothing less than marriage. Can she tame a hopeless rogue?

“A Marquess for Christmas”
Lady Patrina Tidemore gave up on the notion of true love after having her heart shattered.

She finds peace in the cold winter days at Hyde Park—until two little hellions shatter it. Two hellions who happen to have a devastatingly handsome, but coldly aloof father, the Marquess of Beaufort.

At the Christmastide season, Patrina and Weston, unexpectedly learn true love in one another. As Patrina’s scandalous past threatens their future and the happiness of his children, they are both left to determine if love is enough.

Once a Wallflower, At Last His Love
Miss Hermione Rogers has been crafting stories as the notorious Mr. Michael Michaelmas and selling them for a meager wage to support her siblings.

In London for her first Season she seizes the chance to write the tale of a duke. In her research, she finds Sebastian Fitzhugh, the 5th Duke of Mallen.

The Duke of Mallen has been deceived so many times during the high-stakes game of courtship, he’s lost faith in society women.

He’d like to trust Hermione, he’d like to do a whole lot more with her too, but should he?

Scandalous Seasons The Last Three Scandalous Seasons Novels edition by Christi Caldwell Romance eBooks

Christi Caldwell writes a good story. There are imperfections. She tends to repeat words and phrases, not only book to book, but even page to page. I don't know how many times her heroes remark to themselves that they just don't know how they thought the heroine was plain. They seem to have this epiphany over and over. Sometimes the same people enter the room after they have already done so. There are words that are missing, and punctuation too, that make her work hard to read sometimes. And in an early volume of Scandalous Seasons, she really needed to look up the definition of the word "wont."

But in spite of all that I enjoy her stories. She does have a tendency to torture the heroines a lot, and the heroes are often quick to mistrust and judge. But if the characters in a book didn't act in foolish ways sometimes, it might be a boring tale. I like the Cinderella vibe in these books and the fact that the H and the h can sometimes be their own worst enemies, with or without actual villains involved. I didn't skim any of these, which is unusual for me. There is sexual content, but not as much as some books in this genre.

My Lady, you are such a talented writer. I enjoy your books very much. I am happy and sad. You put your heart and soul into every book. Looking forward to the next ones I purchase.
I really enjoyed these three books. I loved all the characters. Christi Caldwell has a true talent in her work. These stories give you humor and romance as well as some very emotional moments that can bring you to tears. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.
The books continue the Scandalous Seasons series introducing new characters and bringing back some we have already met. I like this about Christi Caldwell's writing - she interweaves the characters into many different stories and sometimes into different series'. You cannot go wrong with one of her stories - you will be happy, sad, want to yell at some characters, and then cheer for others!
These wonderful stories took us to the heart of what good storytelling is all about. We meet 3 very different women that have survived scandals with grace and strength. There was humor, despair and wonderfully crafted dialogue that captivated you from the first book. I loved the raw emotions detailed that you felt you were part of the story. I couldn't put them down. I am never disappointed when I pick up a novel by Ms. Caldwell. I can't highly recommend these enough.
Ms Caldwell is an excellent story writer; she weaves interesting details into both the main & secondary characters. My favorite of the trio was A MARQUESS FOR CHRISTMAS, which also happened to be the shortest....the 1st & 3rd books were 300 pages. Which brings me to why I didn't give this bundle a 5th star.... HEAT! If you want to keep MY attention for 300 pages, I need more than a few pages or one scene of passion between the H & h.

I realize regency stories are usually dry but several of Caldwell's other books contain more heat then these. While I read all 6 stories ... & did enjoy them .... I found myself "pushing" to finish, b/c of the lack of heat. So after reading the complete set, I've deleted the books knowing I'll not read them again.

So.....if you enjoy well written regency tales; don't mind a lack of heat or an extremely long story.... these are perfect for you!
I really liked this series by Caldwell and will add her to my author's to read. Her characters come to life and I do so like them all, except the bad guys. Oh that Cavendish character. Bad guy to the core. Need to catch up with all her books now.
Always a Rogue, Forever Her Love
Juliet Marshville is in a fix. One guardian is missing and the other is too old to care. Which leaves her at the mercy of her worthless, hateful brother. After her brother lost her beloved Rosecliff Cottage in a faro game and then tried to sell her off to settle his gambling debts, Juliet is desperate to retrieve her home and escape. But to do so, she has to deal with Jonathan Tidemore, a man known to be a notorious rogue and possibly as dangerous as her brother.
Jonathan Tidemore, 5th Earl of Sinclair, leads a charmed life. Except for the fact that his 4 incorrigible sisters can't seem to hold onto a governess and his mother is demanding he do something about it. When Juliet Marshville tracks him down outside a gaming hell in a most disreputable part of London and demands the return of her property, he sees a golden opportunity. He'll have a governess for his sisters and a much needed mistress for himself. While Juliet is exceptional in her new role as governess, she refuses to be any man's mistress. But refusing the handsome and charming Earl of Sinclair is much harder than she imagined.

What a talent Ms. Caldwell has for creating such loveable characters! Not just the hero and heroine but the secondary characters as well. Jonathan's sisters, while precocious, were absolutely charming. I look forward to reading about them in future books. A sweet and witty romance, Ms. Caldwell charms readers again with 2 delightful characters you can't help but root for to find their happily ever after.

A Marquess For Christmas
Any Christi Caldwell book is worth every page turning minute. She writes practically perfect Regency romance with imaginative story lines and endearing characters. A Marquess For Christmas is another great read. A charming tale of second chances at true love.

Once a Wallflower, At Last His Love
With her father an empty shell of a man after her mother's death, Hermione Rogers has been penning Gothic novels under the pseudonym of Michael Michaelmas using those meager earnings to help with her father's mismanaged accounts and the care of her siblings. When it's obvious her earnings will not be enough, Hermione is forced to venture to London for a season and make a good match to save their name. As she knows little of society, London will be the perfect place to research for her latest novel- The Nefarious Duke. Yet when she meets Sebastian Fitzhugh, 5th Duke of Mallen, the affable, handsome, golden duke in no way matches her dark, brooding duke in her story. Still, he was a duke and it would be good to know more of him- for research purposes, of course.
Sebastian has fulfilled his ducal duties since the sudden death of his father. Sebastian knows he needs to secure a duchess and continue the Mallen line, but he's tired of the title grasping ladies he's encountered. When he meets Hermione, she seems unimpressed with his title. She seems to see beyond his rank and wealth and see only him. Is that why she captivates him so? The best way to figure it out is to spend time with her- for research purposes, of course.

Though they come from vastly different worlds, Hermione and Sebastian were alike in many ways. Both wanted to be loved and accepted for themselves. Hermione was so different from the usual women Sebastian met. She cared nothing for his title. Hermione had grown accustomed to weak men, but Sebastian evinced power and inspired confidence. Though both their families aggravated them to no end, they loved their families deeply. Each had accepted and taken on the responsibility of caring for their family. But dukes did not wed impoverished young ladies one step away from ruin unless forced to marry. Can Hermione force Sebastian's hand for the sake of her family even at the cost of his and her happiness?
Whether a long time fan or new to Christi Caldwell, readers will be thrilled with this charming romance.
